Float

time blends

the clock reads 4

but when did that happen

didn’t i just wake up?

the hands fell back

the sky grows darker

so soon, so early

and time slips away faster

is it day

or night

it's hard to tell anymore

when winter creeps in

with its cold grasp

freezing everything

in eerie stillness

and i lose myself

lost in the snow globe scenery

the white that sparkles

the deep blue that glows

with specks of white

if i’m lucky

but

trapped in the mud streaked slush

piled on the curbs

the ice so black

that the road seems unending

and safe

i feel unmoored

what day is it

what month

everything blends into one long day

it never ends

it never ends

trapped in the house

no, in the clock

the hands that tick on

tick

   tock

      tick

         tock…

on and on and on

its maddening

time is liquid

it flows around

me

and you

and everything

through my fingers

as i try to grasp

even a moment

it flows on

and we float in it

bound to time forever

like fish in the sea
